Project Description:
Before empires, kings, and written records, there were only people — surviving, cooperating, and imagining. This project explores the pre-historic foundations of human nature by asking: What made early humans different from every other species? Through the lenses of evolution, psychology, and anthropology, you’ll investigate the origins of language, storytelling, tribalism, and belief.
You’ll begin with the Cognitive Revolution (~70,000 years ago) and trace how our ability to imagine, cooperate in large groups, and create shared myths laid the foundation for all of history. This project sets the stage for understanding why humans built societies, formed hierarchies, and waged wars — not just how.
